You could be the most talented actor in the room, but if you don’t know how to audition, you’ll never get the part. That is why Quinn Showell (Casting Director for Halle Berry’s ‘Bruised’, Kevin Smith’s ‘Clerks III’, ‘Maybe I Do’ and more) is inviting you to spend 6 weeks with him to learn the craft of successful auditioning. In this workshop, you will learn how to audition by doing just that; running through a series of mock auditions. Each week, you will receive different sides to memorize and prepare in a short amount of time, and then perform them in front of an actual casting director before receiving valuable critiques. Ever wonder what the casting directors want to see? Now you can find out.
We teach audition technique, setting, scenes, mood, self-confidence, set etiquette, and more. This workshop is individually geared toward each actor and their skill level. Whether your child is new to acting, or this is their fourth year training in it, all actors will get a lot out of this workshop. Students will receive regular feedback, encouragement, instruction, and advice that will assist them throughout their acting careers. The young actors workshop rotates around three main focuses in acting: monologues, commercials, and scene work with other actors.
We will be teaching one of our most popular workshops, Scene Study! In this workshop, we will be focusing mainly on scene work. Discover how to dive deep into the mind of the character/role you are portraying. Learn different methods actors use to display true emotion in front of the camera. And most importantly, work on the art of creating chemistry with your scene partner!
